CRIMINAL CONSPIRACY, MURDER, ARSON AND MALICIOUS DAMAGE:

On the 27/7/2017 at about 1200hrs,the Anambra State police Command received a distress call that Misguided elements numbering over  One hundred went on rampage and attacked a Police check point at KM 4/6 along Onitsha/Owerri Road manned by the visiting Police mobile unit attached to 3PMF Enugu, killing on the Spot one SGT Uchenna Ezike while on duty,took away his AK 47 rifle, set ablaze four vehicles and destroyed part of Bontus group.
  Preliminary investigation revealed that the incident was caused by a  moving Lory Mercedes Benz 1513 with REG No ANAMBRA 859 GDD which lost control at the Check point and knocked down a yet to be identified woman and three other children.
   Meanwhile, following the distress call, Police Patrol teams led by DPO Okpolo rushed to the scene, restored normalcy in the Area and arrested thirteen suspects, including One Paul Igwe male of No 1 Ebuka street okpoko in whose custody the deceased Police rifle was recovered.
  The Commissioner of Police CP Garba Baba Umar Psc has ordered for a full scale investigation in order to ascertain the actual cause of the incident and fish out all perpetrators of this dastardly act.
  However, all the four victims  including the police  officer have been taken to Toronto Hospital Onitsha for medical attention but were certified dead on arrival by a medical doctor and their corpses deposited at the mortuary for postmortem examination.
  Finally, Members of the Public are strongly warned to refrain from taking laws into their hands as the command will deal decisively with any individual or groups found wanting in accordance with the Law.

It is no longer a news that the current election of Student Union Central Executive Council of University of Ilorin, this session is one of the most engaging and toughest to expect. With the cooperation of the current administration and ISEC commissioners, they want this to be the fairest and most transparent election in the modern history of Unilorin.

With this Agape and other media personalities wants a fair voting from the voters too, with this motive burning in us; it brought out the movement of compiling all the manifesto of candidates who are ready to show the voters what they have for us. Robert Greene said "an aspiring leader who hides from the public before emerging will never be transparent when he becomes the leader". This is a movement of anticipating transparency, we want the student not just to vote because of just the name but because of the blueprint the candidate have for them.

Any candidate whose manifesto doesn't appear here as believed is not ready to be transparent and not willing to give his blueprint to the populace of this great 'better by far' institution maybe because they don't want them to be questioned in the future or any other reason which we can't just introspect.

Student Social activities play a vital role in the student experience and contribute massively to making this university and union what it is. You will totally agree with me that a society that has a bad Social life, especially the university; a citadel of learning will never be productive. I believe that a huge part of your student life comes from your student union. I want to make it something that students will remember as part of their amazing experience.
Throughout my time at this University I have wanted to make the most of my experience. I joined the former and the present SU officials in carrying out nearly all social activities in this “Better by far University” and then became the bone behind the Student Union Ultra Cinema: the Cinema that belongs to the SU and Show movies for the Students every Friday to release them of their weekly stress. I also joined the current SU sport director in making sporting activities more social. Through being in these roles, I have a great understanding of what the union needs and how it is run especially in the social aspect. By having a close relationship with current SU officials whilst handling some vital social events in the University, I have developed a greater knowledge for the needs of student’s social life and what I can do to improve their experience.
Social activities at Unilorin: Over the years I have been a Student in this University, the Social life has been dormant but thanks to the current administration for the life being brought into our campus this Academic session. I wish to take this into my hands and make sure that next academic session I continue and make the students at Unilorin receive high-class facilities and events socially. And with my vast knowledge in the social media space too, projecting everything social won't be a problem as machinery will be staged in that regards.

 Introduction of the countdown entertainment chart, which will include, top artiste, top music, top comedian, top blogs, top producers, top dance group e.t.c.  This will give us a definite line of who is doing what and also support other people doing the same thing.

I want to provide a better student union for students in I will look at how I can make the SU a better place to be and will also look at having a connection with companies, Music labels and contract managers.
I will also provide social and educative places to go during the week and in between lectures for variation with the help of the school administration.
My ideal University would be, to have everybody coming together to socialize and partake in events. However, I feel the only people that come together are sports teams. I want to help students feel as though they can be involved even if they’re not part of a sports team or society. I want to put on events that a broad range of people will want to take part in together. I would also like for students to go and watch events and to provide a stronger connection/bond between students.

COMMUNICATION is another aspect I will work on, as I will work hand-in-hand with the SU-PRO and other media personnel  around campus to be made aware of what is going on and when.
 I also want students to be able to have a connection with the SU, so they can have a say in what can make it better. Of course students will be in the best position to say what the SU can do to improve. To have their point of view will benefit the student union, Students and University at large.

NAME: FERUKE-BELLO MUBARAK

INTRODUCTION: Good day ladies and gentlemen, my name is Feruke-bello Mubarak popularly known as MUBEE. I am a 300 level student of university of Ilorin (UNILORIN), department of Mathematics precisely. I have considered taking up a stand for the post of social secretary in our great students union for 2017/2018 session. I believe I am the right candidate for the post because I am creative, enthusiastic, reliable, well organized and friendly. I am sure everyone will agree that the present social secretary popularly known as penperenpe has set the bar high for his successor after haven recorded various successful events on campus and upholding this standard is nothing less than what the students deserve. When elected, it’s a role I wouldn’t take lightly for I would strive from the beginning of my term in office to create a fantastic social calendar for the better by far students.

EXPERIENCE: I was the social director of the National Association of Mathematics Student of Nigeria (NAMSN) for 2015/16 and 2016/17 during which I have gained experience in organizing social activities and events. I also gained proper exposure to events coordination by being an active member of various social committees in which I have contributed positively to the success of every activity or event hosted by the committee. I am naturally an outgoing person and organizing of events is more of something I just like doing and good at.

WHAT I HOPE TO ACHIEVE: MAXIMUM PUBLICITY: I have put so much thought into this role already and have great ideas that will benefit the better by far students. I would work closely with the PRO to promote all students union social events and also work hand in hand with media bodies and blogs to create the hype around campus. Also working together with every faculty and departmental socials in planning and aspect of publicity will enhance the magnitude of people involved in social events within the school to its maximum.

 TALENTS RECOGNITION: I have also looked closely at the aspect of recognition and I realized most of the talents, skills and gifts we exhibit in this great university are only recognized within the school domain of which I believe they deserve more than that, so when elected I plan on giving wide recognition to those who deserve it by using social media platforms such as (Facebook, YouTube, Instagram, twitter, etc.) and also partnering with renowned media and entertainment organizations such as television stations.

 LAUNCHING NEW WEBSITE: When elected, I have plans to launch the first students union official entertainment website, which would serve as an avenue for the general public to catch updates, reviews, news and trends on social activities around the school.

  SOCIAL ACTIVITIES (Indoor and outdoor): When elected, I would also make sure to organize indoor and outdoor social activities and events such as (movie/cinema night at the SUB, theatre night at the PFA theatre to give recognition to our upcoming and talented student actors and actresses, fashion concerts, documentary screening at SUB, and more).

  TALENT EXHIBITION: When elected, Talent hunt and exhibition platforms such as (UNILORIN Idol, UNILORIN got talent, UNILORIN dancehall, etc.) would also be organized  for the better by far students to come showcase the various gifts, skills and talents they possess to the public, of which I believe will earn them social recognition on and off campus.

FRESHERS NIGHT: As for incoming first years next session, I would use my own personal experience from this year to create a fun, relaxing and friendly environment for freshers, especially during the orientation and freshers week and also give them a warm welcome by organizing a spectacular freshers welcome party by tradition called “bon fire”, which will be an avenue to bring togetherness and familiarity to one another and having fun time doing so.

PUBLIC OPINION PLATFORMS: I have noticed, in particular that many of our students have felt neglected from time to time and perhaps feel no room has been given to them to express what they want from the social sector of this great university. When elected, I would use platforms such as Facebook page to get opinions from the public and also liaise with our school radio station UNILORIN FM, to hear suggestions from the better by far students.  DINNER/AWARD NIGHT + CULTURAL DAY: As we all well know the Student union Dinner/award night and cultural night are two of the biggest events on our social calendar. Going on the back of this year’s huge success I think we can go bigger and better in terms of numbers, bands and themes to be released in due course and I work best towards something when it is highly anticipated. However, I would say none of these can be achieved without the help of yourselves. You are the ones behind the success of any event haven been recorded in this great university in time past, you are the ones who keep it alive. I hope you will vote for me come election day. My Vision, my Sight

My name is Adewale Olamiposi Madebo aka D'Reputable an aspirant for the Post of Welfare Secretary at the Students' Union (PS).
I have a vision which I want to run with on a mission as the Welfare Secretary of the better by far University, if I am given the chance to serve. I have the plan to do the following, which I term "STEP-2C"
S- security: its no news to us about issues on rape and theft cases that are befalling Unilorites staying off campus. This aspect of my manifesto, is to see how the vigilantes staying in student conc. areas, can be of help to Unilorites in case of emergencies before the arrival of "Nigerian Policemen", when called upon.

T- Transportation: this has been a trans generational challenge that has been facing Unilorites, since the University became the most sought after Federal tertiary institution in the Country. I have plans to solicit for more long buses like the Maigida bus on campus now and to also meet motor parks owners to solicit for their support. If 5 18-sitter buses each, can be gotten from 5 different motor parks and that this buses were able to go on 5 trips, taking students out of school, this means that 2,250 students will be out of school in addition to the buses on ground.

E- Environmental Sanitation: their is an adage which says " Cleanliness leads to Godliness" and I will say also that "Cleanliness leads to healthiness". This plan is to ensure the cleanliness of the school starting from the departments, faculties, halls off residence and the school as a whole. Dust bins will be placed in strategic areas on campus and a daily broadcast message will be sent using the media to Condition, psychologically the attitudes of Unilorites towards the School cleanliness for example " do not litter, leave the restroom (toilet) better than you met it".
Finally, a day will be set aside for   cleaning the school, which will be done by faculties Welfare sec and their teams and the neatest faculty will be appreciated and announced.

P- Price control: the prices of goods and services on campus are irregular. I will meet with shop owners by working abreast with the school task force committee to regulate prices of goods on campus. Also, since there is now a reduction in the price of fuel in the country so therefore, I will try my possible be to ensure that taxi drivers will stop caring 4 passengers at the pack sit of their car and to reduce the fare for Korope back to #40.
C- Clinical services: Students have likened the School clinic to a mere shop due to lack of needed amenities in light of this, I will see how the Union through the school authority, partner with NHIS and other NGO's, who will supply the school clinic with basic amenities. Also, students as complained about nurses rejecting them because they are not with their clinic cards, even when its urgent so, I want to see how the School I.D card can also be adopted as clinic card, as its been done in the University library because I believe all bonafide student of the will have an I.D card and we should be entitled to all services that our tuition fees cover.

C- Care for the Physically challenged: I say this " a deficiency in a part leads to a better efficiency in another part", though they might be physically challenged but they are still Unilorites and we want to show them love, care and not to make them feel dejected, rejected or isolated.

My name is Olaleye Olabanji Samuel a.k.a. EMPEROR, I am a 300 level student of Criminology and Security Studies department, faculty of social science, university of ilorin.

I have not come in the name of writers, neither have I come in the name of philosophers whatsoever to thrill you with flattering words. I have only come to present myself as an individual who is willing, capable, prepared and ready to serve the noble students of this better by far university with all my strength, passion and capability.

I have a passion for service to my fellow man and i have earned a reputation of being a serial volunteer in serving the interest of others.

As we all know that STUDENTS' WELFARISM is the hallmark of STUDENTS' UNIONISM.
I have come to foaster increase in the welfare of all student of this great citadel of learning, the better by far university, university of ilorin.

*My intended project are:*
1. Regulation of price of food and services for students affordability.
2. Maintenance and cleanliness of school hostels, walk way toilets and all campus for students conveniences.
3. To ensure stationed Wi-Fi accross school hostels and all faculties.
4. To foster students security both on and off campus.

Mankind will never see the end to problems and unsatisfactory governance until the lover of people become the holder of power and the holder of power become the lover of the people.

I am fully prepared with enthusiasm and unbridled readiness to work to the gallery and protect the interest of all university of ilorin students.

On this note, i will end by saying all my intended project cannot be achieved without the cooperation of the students of this better by far citadel of learning and their indispensable decision to support, pray and vote for the man who will not trade their welfare for gold and silver.

It is no longer a news that the current election of Student Union Central Executive Council of University of Ilorin, this session is one of the most engaging and toughest to expect. With the cooperation of the current administration and ISEC commissioners, they want this to be the fairest and most transparent election in the modern history of Unilorin.

With this Agape and other media personalities wants a fair voting from the voters too, with this motive burning in us; it brought out the movement of compiling all the manifesto of candidates who are ready to show the voters what they have for us. Robert Greene said "an aspiring leader who hides from the public before emerging will never be transparent when he becomes the leader". This is a movement of anticipating transparency, we want the student not just to vote because of just the name but because of the blueprint the candidate have for them.

Any candidate whose manifesto doesn't appear here as believed is not ready to be transparent and not willing to give his blueprint to the populace of this great 'better by far' institution maybe because they don't want them to be questioned in the future or any other reason which we can't just introspect.

Whatever is written and put on a global space like this will always be there and we can use it to put them on check when they emerge. According to Chris Timble 'media is a great tool to keep our leaders on check'.

This is not a political movement as friendship and other relationship is taken out of it, not even a comma is added or subtracted from what is submitted.

The main problem of a man is his inability to define his strength and weaknesses.
The main problem of a society is lack of communication.
A student is said to be poor if he lacks information and I'm here to enrich students with information.

By virtue of introduction;  I'm Oyewumi Muftau Bidemi popularly known as MYT. A 400Level Electrical Engineering student of our great citadel of learning, Unilorin. vying for the post of the Public Relations Officer P.R.O, UNILORIN.

A soldier who as gone to battles can tell more of wars. My antecedence over the years within the sphere of the school as prepared me to be worthy and experienced to contest for the seat.

I'm an individual willing, able, capable, enthusiastic and ready to serve our prestigious university in the strength of the Public Relations Officer P.R.O. The decision of this aspiration is not by compulsion or power thirst but rather it's passion driven and also by my strong believe in my strength to serve the union to being the best P.R.O ever existed in the history of Unilorin.

*Why should you vote me in?*
As we all know, the office of the P.R.O is saddled with the major responsibility of disseminating information but it takes been a writer, a public speaker and a media personnel who understands the ways of passing information. Yes, I certify all these. The major aim still remains effective dissemination of information at appropriate time.

_I have a six achievable points Agenda_
- *Transparency in administration* : An administration that's not transparent remains corrupt. There shall be provision for media chats, press conference and also I will uphold the radio program "The Stewardship" to serve as avenue for the congress to ask questions, give opinions, thoughts, ideas and observations to all the union officials. This will also act as check and balance.

*Effective Dissemination of Information* : I will work with noteworthy and capable member of the union which shall cut across all faculties and hall of residence to help in the effective dissemination of information and notifications within the school.


*Improved Student Union Bulletin* : The bulletin shall come with well packaged up-to-date informations with better-to-read design and it shall get to appropriate quarters.

- *Creation of a Union's website* : As saddled on the office of the Public Relations Officer constitutionally in our union's compendium-To preserve the image of the school both internally and externally, I believe having an active Union's website with history of the school, notifications, events awareness shall help in discharging such purpose.

- *Leadership Summit* : This is an annual program from the office of the Public Relations Officer where dignitaries from different part of the country are invited and it's aimed at lecturing students about leadership roles and the necessities of leadership. This will come to stay rigidly during my time if elected.

- *Info-graphics* : God bless the initiative of the current Public Relations Officer who capitalised very much on Social media as the major means of passing information and it's indeed very effective, I shall improve on it. In the chase to enrich all students with information, I noticed there are large amount of students who are  media apathy due to the numerous reason of not been able to access media. As an engineering student who works with facts & figures; "People tends to be attracted to graphics which they see and read through than what they hear". There shall be provision for info-graphics at a very strategic place with day-to-day activities been projected on it.

A reasonable and responsible man will only say that which is achievable within his capability and not what he can never do.

DREAMERS DON'T SLEEP MANIFESTO.

Aspiring for the post of Student Union Public Relations Officer (PRO)

So, I have been told of the strength, resiliency, selflessness and bravery portrayed by my grandpa when he was an Otun of my hometown, random elders would come to my family house just to narrate the story of this great man. The smile and joy that shone on the faces of the elders when they speak of him made me crave for the opportunity to serve a group of people too. I am not here to bore you with the tales of my long gone grandpa, neither am I here to boast about my rich leadership background, nor how I would serve a set of people with the promise of building a castle in the air. I am rather here to embrace your mandate, trust and ultimately support through voting. I have been nursing the hope and prayed alongside for a day my little dream would become an humongous reality. Few months ago, I heard a loud knock at my door, I peeped and voila, it was the opportunity, finally at my door. Good thing is the key to open the door lies comfortably on your palm and truly with your help we can all open the door.

The fact that the core duty of a public relations officer is the dispensation of adequate and timely information is no alien to the student populace. There are some oversight duties however that should not be overemphasised.  In the vein of discharging this duty to the fullest, I have designed a two segment strategies. The core and the oversight duties.

Core strategies;

1. Social media: according to my own small scale survey on 100 students across five faculties, 86% obtain their information from Facebook and WhatsApp, 60 from just WhatsApp, 26% from just Facebook, 10 from Twitter and 4 from Instagram. This numbers gave me more conviction and helped me come to the conclusion of intensifying the use of social media as the major medium of disseminating information. WhatsApp, having the highest percent will stand as the flag bearer of our campaign.

2. Repackaging of old conventional way: of course, we grew up to reading new Intel on the notice board. Do we really need to expunge the concept? My answer is no. I stand for the restructure of our notice board, this is where we consider our friends without a smart phone and laptop. Instead of boring long details, we can replace it with catchy, concise and clear graphics designs of the details, people relate with colourful images pretty more than text. And in a way, we are empowering our student graphics designers.

3. No door policy: we maintain a no door policy where students can come to drop suggestions on out to better the informational affairs of the students or come for further demystification or elucidation of any ambiguity in messages passed across. This will also help in getting a feedbacks from the students.

4. Restructuring of the union's radio program: Believe me, this is a programme the whole of Unilorin students should urge for its next airing, a programme where students should be able to call in and give feedbacks or asked questions, not just a one way broadcast, an interactive session would be allowed on the program.

5. Faculty/departmental PROs training and workshops: Teaming up is a surest way to winning up, one synergy is better than millions of independent energy. We would be needing a team of information mongers, and who can do the job is not the faculty and the departmental PROs who would be reorientated, workshops would be organised to train them on how to use the information dispensation tools to the fullest, this way, the flow of only adequate information would be ascertained. The departmental PRO will work in return with the class representative as they are they closer to the students.

Oversight strategies:

6. Student empowerment: seminar and contest will be arranged to help student build their latent talent, all some talents need is a triggering effect,  someone to press the button, shows and contest will hold testing for writing, speaking, singing, designing. Training sector where student will undergo different type of handiwork and intellectuals.

7. War against monopoly of information: During my rally, I gather informations on how Intel from the union building always have a stopover somewhere somehow before finally getting to the waiting ears, eyes and mind of the students, I took it up and did some verification, I was able to discover that some of the complaints were misinterpreted but to avoid future recurrences, the union will have it own blog, where student can easily go to fetch informations.

The last two are kind of a new and my innovations, what I will like to be remembered for. I called them the "Twonnovation"

8. Advertisement of project: This is the part where we truly give every students opportunity to showcase what they are! stuffed of, it is a thing to train someone and another thing to give them a platform to display what they have learned. It is will be too hypocrisy of us to train and dump, therefore, the office of public relations officer will advertise publicly its project so that interested student will be able to submit proposals.

8. A powerful talk show: This is a show will will include all Unilorin student, both at the PS or the mini site. Where students come together to talk about Contemporary issues, trendy issues and other related topics, here is when student of related topics will be invited to come talk on the issues, we get to also hear from our international students, share their experiences, many of us stay next-door to international students but we have never though of knowing about their cultures, this program will help in tackling this situation. The show, which is going to hold once a week or twice a month, depending on how feasible the financings are.


All these are not feeble promises but a concrete manifesto. Remember DREAMERS DON'T SLEEP.

To aspire to be a leader is to be determined to serve. To aspire to be a leader is to be committed to constant improvement. To aspire to be a leader is to take as your responsibility to impact the lives of the people around you. I am Onuka Zuleihat Ozohu aspiring for the position of Student Union Vice President in University of Ilorin PS. Let's go beyond the horizon with the following agenda.

1.  The laws that are mostly abused are the laws that have not been understood, recognised or agreed upon. In order to attain less embarrassment of students who fall short of the dress code as a result of the lack of the knowledge of the dress code. I would come up with a *FASHION SYMPOSIUM/CONFERENCE TAGGED DRESS CODE RECODE*; This is a conference that would be set up inviting both students and the dress code committee, it would entail discussions about the accepted mode of dressing stating why we should wear what we wear and how to be stylish with the accepted mode of dressing. Through this common ground, we can promote cooperation amongst students and management(dress code committee).
2. Although there are various oratory contests around the campus. These are usually departments and faculty based. That is, there is really no oratory competition that brings students from different faculties and departments on the same team. Hence the reason I would organise an *INTER SCHOOLHOSTEL COMPETITION TAGGED; WARWORDS*;This would enhance the friendliness and cooperation among hostelites and give opportunity to those who cant participate in the department or faculties. It would also increase our chances at making waves intellectually beyond the four walls of the university and thereby not just making ourselves and our parents proud. But making University of Ilorin a force to be reckoned with as well.
3. You would agree with me that there are a lot of things left unsaid in our society that has brought about decay and dismay in our normal lives first as inindividuals and them as students. Hence the need for organising a SAY NO WEEK 
4. SAY NO TO DOMESTIC VIOLENCE,* not just domestic violence against women but the men as well.S
5. SAY NO TO SEXUAL VIOLENCE* such as rapes and other forms of abuse. How to recover from them and what to do to get justice.

• SAY NO TO DRUG MISUSE AND ABUSE.* This would also come with prominent people in the society, sharing their stories and encouraging the youths to live worthwhile lives.This would have talk shows, rallies as well as health awareness and check up and theatre film shows. 

1. All of us are privileged to be students of the better by far but not all of us are privileged to have the fees to pay for the tuition. Hence the need for all of us to help the few of us who can't pay for their fees. There would be a forum called *SAVE A UNILORITE FORUM;* A forum where students who have issues with paying their fees would be assisted with the fees. This forum would strictly be charity and not everyone would be entitled. 

All the programs will be accomplished under the existing organisation headed by the present *Vice President, WOI (Women Of Impact)* because I believe in making impact and I believe women have important roles to play in it. Like they say train a man, train an individual but train a woman, train the nation.
I understand that other members of the CEC would have their own programs and I believe in teamwork which will enhance the delivery of all these for the overall welfare of students. Therefore, I will work with all other members to achieve a progressive union.
Let's all achieve the progressive future we want, let's all go beyond the horizon.

Politics

As defined by Merriam Webster dictionary 'Politics is the competition between competing interest groups or individuals for power and leadership (as in a government)', and as been noticed by Unilorites that it is not something new, even to the uninvolved fresher, that the rain semester is subjected to politics after social events, academics and religions are sidelined because the ban has been lifted. Some might say they are fans of political apathy but don't forget apathy is another way of involvement. "In our age there is no such thing as 'keeping out of politics.' All issues are political issues, and politics itself is a mass of lies" (-George Orwell). I solely accept this quote as every student is involved in one way or the other. In an institution of about 35,000 students, the total Presidential votes isn't more than 10,000 and some executives emerge with less than 300 votes, the whole 35,000 are still involved because some decided not to partake in voting process doesn't mean they are keeping out of politics.

The commencement of rain semester brings the rains of "Good morning", "African Pots", "Tetracycline for the day" and lot more, our Whatsapp groups are filled with rains of different quotes and Bcs, our trees and walls are defaced by the raindrops of stickers portraying names of different colours and when the ban is lifted we know the purpose behind those drops in our groups and our trees.

 Poli-tricks and Poli-thieves

To attain a political height, you need to put into play some strategies in order to win the competition as it is expected in every competition. You have to play one or more political tricks as I'll love to call it 'Poli-tricks.

Will Rogers said "A fool and his money are soon elected". I do not see anything bad or wrong in what Will Rogers wrote, the type of strategy you play or the poli-trick you use make you emerge, a fool with a good strategy who looks into the shoes of the electorates will emerge, even if he won't function.
Donald Trump said "One of the key problems today is that politics is such a disgrace, good people don't go into government". This is not all lie as the good ones are not good at tricking, they try to convince but would never gain your attention, they try to convince but the Poli-tricker has played on your fantasy fantastically.

  Mr. Poli-tricker, wait! You smile at us during rains and I hope during harmattan your smile still continues but unfortunately it stops, it is not your fault; its the fault of the harmattan in the harmattan semester, it is the weather, we can't expect what we experience in rain to be experienced again in harmattan. It is unreasonable!

Mr. Poli-tricker, the fantasy creator, the one who make us inhale the happy gas of his words because you know we embrace lies and you find it profitable to romance us with such fantasy, you make our hope go high when you know you won't accomplish that. Why don't you tell us the truth? We are tired of lies, you're good with Demagoguing as you have skilfully weaved your web to get us. Don't play tricks with us if you know you won't deliver, it is not too late to step down as it is not too late to step up with your agenda.

They come to us with propaganda, they demagogued us, they stole our votes, emerged and stole our resources; and we say they are not Poli-thieves? Wait a second! You call that national cake? The same national cake ate by Bragadino II, the mysterious alchemist that lead to the total crunch of Venice, there are miscellaneous which could get to your pocket as well as there are embezzlement.


 Poli-tools and Poli-used.

To gain heights in politics and power, man has to use people to get there—use bait if necessary. (8th law of Power). Truly men will be tools to get men to heights but the way he is been used determine if he is a vessel or was just used. Since these poli-trickers know what we need and the type of fantasy they can create for us because we either ask the wrong question or do not even ask question at times. A wise man said "Let us not seek the Republican answer or the Democratic answer, but the right answer"-(John F. Kennedy). Some of you will say “he /she is my personal person", they come to meet you, you don't even know their agenda and reason, you carry banner, you walk round school because he's your personal person, he/she is not capable but you canvass for him/her, you didn't get the right answer, you don't even want answer, or you only seeker the democratic/republican answer. When he gets there will he remember you?  When he get there, are you sure he won't do carpet crossing? Against him or her won't there be mass alienation? When he gets there, will he represent you well? Won't they use the "no more law" slogan for you? Some of these people are good in gerrymandering, don't create enemies of yourselves, Unilorin is a small world.

Most Poli-tools and Poli-used belong to the 100level category, they can manoeuvre you when you're not sensible enough. A friend who preached the political gospel of an aspirant said 'the guy will even see you and will not even say hi, he has crossed carpet because level don change'.

Imagine this, after the intended powerful becomes powerful, he still sends his 'Good morning quotes' he still sends his 'Tetracycline dose' he still comes around to say hi, he accomplish even if not all but most of his agenda, he still take you tutorials or assign someone else to do that. (LOL).

Let us not be used, let us vote for meritocracy and shun nepotism. Give the best man your mandate and don't let religion tie you down, someone can be anointed and organizational illiterate, leadership is not religion, don't be a victim of tribalism, it is equal to racism. If you know he's not capable, let him know and don't waste your vote.

Without much ado, I will love to drop my naughty pen by saying *Politics, Poli-tricks, Poli-thieves, Poli-tools and Poli-used* is a great odyssey in Unilorin.

The University of Ilorin, Students union Independent Student electoral commitee (ISEC) just lifted the ban for all aspirants to declare their ambition to the entire public of the 'better by far' institution.

Information just got to one of our agent that the ban has been lifted and all aspirants can now declare their ambition.
